Do you like American pastries, brownies, large filled cakes, puddings, cookies or pies? You're in for a treat. Rue Greneta in the 2nd arrondissement opens the Stoney Clove Bakery, a small patisserie that has decided to let you discover the real taste of pastries from across the Atlantic.
Beth Beji and Philip Andelman, one a pastry chef and the other a filmmaker, have teamed up to create this Ambassade de la pâtisserie US. Add Cassandra Choi, an American pastry chef trained at Ferrandi, and you've got an array of gourmet creations.
" Here, it's not about eccentric glazes and superfluous ingredients. We want to get back to basics and convey in one bite the emotion I experienced with these cakes in the U.S. "
With its pastel colors and made-in-the-USA lighting fixtures, it's a refreshing change from French pastry shops. At the corner of the lively Rue des Petits Carreaux, we're off to get our fill of takeaways.
Your turn for great cookies, soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside and 100% natural. Chacolate chip, peanut butter and cherry, white chocolate and brown butter or M&M version, the choice is yours (or not).
You too can enjoy the famous big American cakes, in a variety of flavors and colors. All ingredients come from the USA and everything is made in the store for fresh, delicious cakes.
The puddings are to die for, and cinnamon lovers will be delighted with the Apple pies. All you have to do is let yourself be tempted, and you won't be disappointed: it's cro cro good!
