Christophe Michalak, the famous pastry chef who left the kitchens of the Plaza Athénée to open several pastry shops in Paris - rue du faubourg Poissonnière in the 10th arrondissement in 2013, rue de la Verrerie and then rue du Vieux-Colombier in the 6th arrondissement - has justopened his own café!

Three years after opening, Christophe Michalak decided to simply modify the structure of the first Pâtisserie (rue du Faubourg Poissonière) to offer a few places to his loyal customers. A small victory for frustrated customers who didn't want to wait until they got home to eat their religieuse!

As a result, alongside the Kosmiks counter (desserts in verrines to be eaten with a spoon wherever you like), Klassiks cakes for 8 people (mille-feuille on the slice, Paris Brest, lemon tart, baba, pavlova...), there's a café-tea room where the chef will be offering a renewed pastry menu (with a flan, a chocolate moelleux to die for at 5.80€, slices of tart at 6.5€ and the excellent yuzu baba at 9€), to be accompanied by "le meilleur du Kosmos" praline hot chocolate at 5€, crazy coffees, lattes and cappuccinos or a Kool Me (the mango passion ginger drink at 4.5€)!
And if you're already melting, you're not out of luck yet: the Christophe Michalak café will also be presentingchef Michalak's best-of salads , which we're confident will be superbly seasoned, foccacia gorgonzola bread, roasted pears, honey-nut bread (yes, we salivate too) at 5.5€, Croque M goat's cheese and figs at 5€, vitamin-packed vegetable smoothies, Kalamata tomato-olive gougères at 3.5€ and even gorgonzola crèmes brûlées at 5€!
You'll also find our famous nibbles. There's the Kalin (a soft bear with a marshmallow heart), the Klavier (a mega-bar of milk chocolate, hazelnut praline and fleur de sel) and the Koonies (a happy marriage between Mrs. Cookie and Mr. Brownie), not forgetting the now-ubiquitous Klakettes, K7s, Takatartiner, chef's books and all the rest.
You love Christophe Michalak 's pastries and your bookshelf is already overflowing with his recipe books. That said, reading and making are two different things. To help you in your quest for the sublime and delicious dessert, this year Christophe Michalak is opening an extra class of 8 for his MasterClass.
With bright, relaxed rooms and a cool, musical atmosphere, the setting is ideal for learning how to combine flavors, play with textures, discover ingredients and their qualities, and get to grips with know-how. This school is like no other, in the image of its creator: innovative, accessible and downright cool.
The Michalak MasterClass is now open mornings and afternoons. 3 formulas are available:
A great program for apprentice cooks in search of culinary techniques and know-how. Or simply because you're a pastry buff and bibi loves cakes (what do you mean, bibi's offering you the classes! Too bad...). And there's good news for foodies on the 10th floor. Now we can enjoy pastries without having to cross Paris or go to the Plaza!
