Takumi in Paris: the patisserie specializing in Japanese cheesecake

Forget the traditional cheesecake from the USA, and let yourself be tempted by the Japanese cheesecake. More airy and much less sweet, Japanese cheesecake is similar to the famous chiffon-cake. Invented on the island of Hokkaido, the recipe remains a secret, but one Parisian address has decided to take you on a journey to the land of the Rising Sun, to give you a taste of this must-try dessert. Called Takumi, this patisserie is the first Parisian boutique to feature authentic Japanese cheesecake. As a result, gourmets have been flocking to the patisserie since it opened at the end of May 2022.

Inside? Pastry chefs are busy making the famous cheesecake before our very eyes, as well as other sweet specialties with irresistible flavors: matcha, black sesame, chocolate, vanilla and raspberry. These include the "cheese-tart", and the excellent"cream-puff", a Japanese dessert inspired by the famous cream puff we know so well in France. We especially like the black sesame cream puff!

As for the cheesecakes, Takumi offers a choice of several flavors : yuzu, chocolate, matcha (which we highly recommend) or classic (vanilla)... but each time, our taste buds are guaranteed to tingle! This cheesecake has a lot going for it, thanks in particular to its airy recipe, no cookie base, round shape and lightly browned dome. Those with a stronger taste for cheese won't hesitate to enjoy it cold, straight from the fridge, while those who prefer fluffy cakes will prefer to savor it lukewarm.

And for lovers of savory dishes, Takumi also offers sandos, the famous Japanese sandwiches. Tamago, chicken or wagyu beef, the hardest part will be choosing!

Finally, in this summer season, Takumi invites you to refresh yourself with its Mochi Ice concept, iced mochis in classic Takumi flavors (chocolate, matcha, black sesame) or fruitier ones (strawberry, passion fruit and coconut).
