Ice Mama, quality ice cream parlour in the 16th arrondissement

At Ice Mama, you won't find a menu listing the flavors available, and that's only to be expected, since this address, which opened this summer in the 16th arrondissement, has set itself an original challenge for an ice cream parlour: to work exclusively with fresh, seasonal produce. As a result, the menu changes daily! "Here, we put the fruit at the center of the ice cream," assures Lamine Meradji, the brand's creator.

This is not the first time he's done this. Although Ice Mama is his first store in Paris, the brand has already existed in Marrakech since 2019, and this ice cream lover wanted to duplicate his formula in the French capital. Here, he prepares his own homemade desserts on the day, depending on what's available.

Of course, there are timeless classics that will be there almost constantly: flavors based on dried fruit (especially pistachio), chocolate, and the signature flavor, based on orange blossom imported directly from Marrakech, sprinkled with pistachio slivers. All these flavors almost make you rediscover ice cream, so subtle is the taste and so sweet the cream. But what will surprise you most are the daring combinations of flavors: among others, lemon-ginger, raspberry-litchi, caramel-hazelnut, or banana-lemon-lime. These last two are our favorites.

And when winter arrives, more appropriate, but no less original, flavors will be offered to customers. You'll find truffle ice cream, tea ice cream and parmesan ice cream. What's more, Ice Mama also offers ice cream cakes and logs, perfect for the festive season!

So head to rue Mesnil, in the 16th arrondissement, to enjoy exceptional ice creams and a hot drink in a warm, soothing setting. And last but not least, a second, more touristy Ice Mama address is due to open in the next few months in downtown Paris.
