Melun celebrates Brie 2026, the must-attend event for cheese lovers.

Cheese lovers, head to Seine-et-Marne (77)! On Saturday, October 3, 2026, Melun fête son Brie kicks off a 24th edition devoted to the famed Brie de Melun, the AOP cheese emblematic of the region. From 10 a.m., the event returns to the town center’s pedestrian zone, offering a gastronamic route that stretches all the way to Île Saint-Étienne.

This year, no fewer than 110 stands are on the books. A hundred-odd producers from across France will be showcasing cheeses, terroir goods, wines, sweets and other specialities. It’s enough to fill your basket while, of course, you’ll want to sample the Brie de Melun, the undisputed star of the day. The organizers expect around 15,000 visitors for this new edition.

The celebration goes far beyond a mere marché! Street entertainment, fanfare, a mini-farm and workshops for young and old will punctuate the day. Cheese traditions will also be well represented with the procession of the confraternities, the Brie de Melun competition, and the installation of new Knights of the Brie de Melun. This edition also marks the 30th anniversary of the alliance between the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Brie de Melun and the Confrérie de l'Ordre de la Dive Bouteille de Gaillac.
