Concept bars

This counter is a bit strange... You love to have your morning coffee at the counter of your favorite bar, where you and your friends meet for drinks and happy hour... It's time to take a little detour to try out some new and unusual places.

Here are a few bars/cafés where the decor, atmosphere, ordering system, or even the concept of the bar itself are innovative and unexpected. Visiting these places is either an original experience or a way to impress your friends with your unique tips...

FOOTSIE
Do FootsieSicav, Cac 40, Nasdaq, etc. make you think of space shuttle names? Then this is the perfect place to learn about stock market listings. Also recommended if you already own shares and have lots of trader friends who are addicted to market fluctuations. Here, you can play Wall Street while enjoying drinks of varying prices in a beautiful wood-paneled room. Drinks are listed and screens display prices in real time. That's what makes this bar so unique: the more a drink is ordered, the more its price increases. Alcoholic inflation is managed by stock market software that generates "crashes" on certain drinks several times a night, reviving customers' interest. Had a black Thursday? Head over to the Footsie to relax and maybe even make a deal.

LG WASH BAR / L'ILE ENCHANTEE
Sponsored by a major appliance brand, the Wash Bar offers an original bar/apartment/laundromat concept. Coupled with the Île Enchantée bar, near the Canal Saint Martin, the LG Wash Bar is located on the first floor of the establishment. The principle is simple: buy a drink and get a free laundry service. Designed as a friendly space, the apartment-laundromat operates on a self-service basis. Each room (living room, office, kitchen) is furnished with designer furniture to make you feel comfortable and at home. Comfortable and busy, but perhaps less typical than your local laundromat, it is nonetheless an original place where all of LG's technology is at your disposal while the washing machine is running. So instead of doing your laundry with your family, do it with friends at the Wash Bar!

ICE KUBE

Ice Kube. Head to Siberia, in the heart of the 18th arrondissement.
After Stockholm, London, and Milan, Paris has adopted this new bar concept at the ultra-stylish Hotel Kube. For three years now, the unusual Ice Bar has been offering a unique experience in an ice-covered setting. Due to the extreme temperatures, cold-weather gear (gloves, parka, and hat) is provided for the duration of your visit. Before entering this temple of ice, a 0°C airlock allows your body to acclimatize to the -5°C/-10°C temperature of the Ice Bar, thus avoiding any thermal shock. Specially designed by an artist, the entire room is decorated in ice except for the ceiling (huge bar, armchairs, sculptures). Trendy electronic music, sophisticated and colorful lighting, cocktail glasses carved from ice—enough to surprise you as you sample the four original vodka-based mixes. As you can imagine, the specialty here is vodka, as the bar is associated with a major spirits brand. It's enough to warm your throat and even leave you feeling a little heated. The space can accommodate up to 20 people, so it's best to book your polar adventure in advance, especially since the time you can spend in these temperatures is necessarily limited. You're guaranteed 30 minutes of thrills in this stylish and bright igloo.

DVD CAFE
In this age of automation, where a few taps and clicks are all it takes to order food, buy flowers, or rent movies (although very convenient at certain times of the night), we forget that advice from enthusiasts in a pleasant setting has become rare and therefore precious. The DVD café, as its name suggests, is a video club-café that allows you to take your time, or at least the time it takes to drink a coffee, to choose your film. The selection on the shelves is mainly arthouse and classic films, but the owners also offer recent releases for rent. This is a great concept that deserves to be developed, so drop in for a drink, browse through some magazines, and choose a film for the evening to support this wonderful initiative. In return, you'll get advice from two film buffs.
