The charming 4-star Hotel Chouchou pampers travelers in its spacious rooms with a Parisian flair. If you're feeling peckish, head for the electrically-charged foodcourt, where you'll find delicious produce from the land and sea, savored to the sound of lively live music.

Located a stone's throw from the Grands Magasins and theOpéra, in the heart of the 9th arrondissement, theHotel Chouchou opened its doors at the beginning of 2020, replacing the Richmond Opéra, under the impetus of the Elegancia group, which also owns the charming and highly confidential Hotel Seven.

With 63 rooms, including 3 suites, and 4 sparkling stars, theHotel Chouchou reveals all the classic codes of theParisian apartment : beautiful moldings on the ceiling, herringbone parquet that creaks slightly underfoot, charming velvet armchairs for resting with your eyes in the clouds, chic checked earthenware in the bathroom, or a marinière bed linen set to imagine a weekend by the sea.

Ideal for couples, Hotel Chouchou's pretty rooms offer all the comforts you need to spend a quiet moment away from the hustle and bustle of the city, starting with top-quality bedding, and in the bathroom - in some rooms - a bathtub big enough for two lovers, as well as the most modern Japanese toilets.

While the 3 suites inspired by French chanson icons - Gainsbourg, Edith Piaf and Boris Vian - are located under the hotel's rooftops and offer a view of the corner of the Opéra Garnier, some rooms overlook the courtyard, giving us a bird's-eye view of the merry bazaar taking place under the large glass roof where, from Thursday to Sunday, a live music program is held to discover new talents in the world of chanson. Rest assured: the rooms are perfectly soundproofed, and once you've closed the window, you'll have no idea what's going on downstairs!

And in the common areas, too, theHotel Chouchou has a lot to offer. Accessible via the hotel's gilded mirror entrance, but also via a dedicated entrance on Rue du Helder, the hotel's large glass roof is home to a market/bar/guinguette with a land (with La Grande Bouffe) and sea (with La Mer à Boire) offer that will make food lovers swoon.

On the menu, a made-in-France menu of fresh produce direct from the producers: oysters from Brittany, galettes-saucisses, charcuterie and cheese boards, clams and lobster rolls. And to accompany it all, a multitude of enchanting cocktails, to toast friends or lovers to the sound of live music.

It's also in this large room bathed in natural light that breakfast is served, with sweet treats such as viennoiseries, brioche, fresh bread, fruit salad and pancakes, and savory delights such as charcuterie, cheeses and boiled eggs for connoisseurs; the ideal way to start the day after a good night's sleep at the hotel.

Finally, if you want to be pampered, there are three baths with different atmospheres to rent by the hour!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
