The worksite canteen reinvented... That's what Le Comptoir du Chantier offers, the new food hotspot created by Machefert Group that opened its doors at the Normandy Hotel on October 17, 2019. The establishment offers gourmets and gourmands a plant-based and vegan menu"centered on naturalness and sharing", and transforms into a biodynamic wine bar in the evening, with various vegetarian and plant-based boards.
Comptoir du Chantier is also open for breakfast, from 7am to 11pm. The menu includes smoothies, homemade juices and vegan milk shakes, followed by a fresh salad, soup or hot dish for lunch. Those with a sweet tooth can also indulge in the house-made vegan pastries from the Oh Faon bakery.
In terms of decor, the atmosphere is one of"raw materials and furnishings inspired by the world of building sites". These include large sideboards in the form of scaffolding, as well as metal crockery, PVC tiles, wooden crates and road signs. A second room immerses you in a more kitsch universe, reminiscent of old workers' rest rooms from the 70s.
A restaurant we had the opportunity to try... And we loved it! For starters, we were tempted by a roasted squash salad, with butternut, spinach shoots, fresh goat's cheese, pomegranate, pecans and pesto sauce. A very fresh, very light plate for a great start. What followed was a "sweet potato boat" that had us salivating with envy. A hollowed-out potato with a tasty blend of coral lentils, coriander, coconut milk and turmeric powder, accompanied by a plate of boulghour. A warm, vegan dish that's sure to keep the body warm on those cold winter days... And for dessert, a tasty vegan pastry, a rosemary and pine nut tartlet. A real treat! Please note that the menu changes daily, according to the season, with the exception of the desserts.
A new hotspot"that plays on contrasts", taking"the concept of the construction site canteen" and reinventing its codes. The idea? To adapt to current consumer concerns. So everyone is free to"make the place their own in an artistic way", but also to enjoy it according to their desires: large tables for "fans of conviviality", lunch on the go, aperitifs revisited"with a healthy twist"... It's up to you! It's even possible to work here, as the space also defines itself as a super co-working space. Shall we go there, friends?
