If you're in the mood for tasty, seasonal French cuisine in a chic setting, head for Mon Square, a restaurant in Paris's 7th arrondissement that offers a unique culinary experience, from its decor and terrace to its menu. We've tried it, and we'll tell you all about it! To win your menu for two, go to the bottom of the page.

For some time now, the capital has seen the emergence of several new gourmet addresses. From the most chic to those inviting to travel... there's something for everyone. Among these new restaurants, which opened in 2020 but were forced to close due to confinement, Mon Square...

This is Quentin de Fleuriau's very first restaurant. After working with the Costes brothers for ten years, the restaurateur has set himself a new challenge with the opening of this address, located at N°31 on the famous rue Saint-Dominique.

To delight your taste buds, Mon Square has chosen to honor seasonal French cuisine, with a number of chic brasserie classics on the menu, including lacquered salmon, scallop carpaccio, roasted sea bass fillet, Burgundy giants and linguine with winter truffles.... All to be enjoyed with a fine selection of wines or clever beverages that can be sipped at the bar or on the heated garden terrace.

A menu that the editorial team was able to try out... For starters, we were tempted by the roasted cauliflower with homemade hummus, and the scallop carpaccio. These two relatively simple starters were particularly well presented and executed. We appreciate the freshness of the tartare, which blends perfectly with the vinaigrette and mango purée for a sweet touch. As for the cauliflower, we also appreciate the pomegranate seeds, which add a touch of sweetness to the cauliflower too.

For the main course, we opted for the sea bass pavé with yuzu butter. An unbeatable balance of flavors, thanks to the frothy, airy yuzu butter. The final dessert was"Choco Square", a chocolate and salted butter caramel bar drizzled with custard. An ultra-indulgent dessert that we can't recommend highly enough.

In terms of decoration, Mon Square has spared no expense, unveiling an arty ambience conceived by the restaurant's architect Florence Lopez. In particular, she called on three artists to enhance the restaurant: Sacha Floch Poliakoff, who hand-painted flowery canvases on the walls, Lisbon ceramist Bela Silva, who also hand-crafted several beautiful pieces, including a monumental tree above the bar, and Mathias Kiss, who designed Mon Square' s private Kiss Room...

In short, a great address to discover if you're ever in Paris's 7th arrondissement. Shall we go there, friends?
