New ramen spot in Paris! The Kodawari chain keeps expanding in the capital with its immersive, mouthwatering concept. For its third Parisian venue, located in the heart of the city, Kodawari invites us to step into a Japanese street-station-inspired setting and savor duck ramen. Here’s what you need to know about this new address, dubbed Kodawari Ueno, whose opening is imminent!

You already knew Kodawari Yokocho and its recreated Tokyo street vibe, then Kodawari Tsukiji plunged you into a true Japanese fish market. Very soon, get ready to discover Kodawari Ueno, the new and third address of Kodawari Ramen in Paris.

Always devoted to this mouthwatering Japanese specialty—noodles, a rich broth, and other delectable ingredients—Kodawari Ueno presents us with a new sensory journey in the heart of Japan; a country close to the heart of Jean-Baptiste Meusnier.

Driven by a passion for Japanese culture and cuisine, this former fighter pilot reinvented himself as a successful entrepreneur. He is behind Kodawari Yokocho, which opened in spring 2016 on rue Mazarine, and Kodawari Tsukiji, opened in May 2019 on rue de Richelieu. And despite the passing years, the two restaurants still draw the crowds. Not to mention that beyond serving delicious ramen at affordable prices, Kodawari Ramen offers diners a unique immersive journey with decorations and scenography that feel almost lifelike.

Kodawari Ueno: a third ramen spot in Paris, this time dedicated to duck

This summer, ten years after opening his first restaurant, Jean-Baptiste Meusnier is writing a new chapter and announcing the opening of his new, third venue in Paris. This time the entrepreneur has chosen to put the spotlight on duck in his broths, and not just any duck—specifically the duck from Périgord! The duck ramen, a rarity in Japan, will be on the menu, along with special starters. As with his two previous restaurants, Jean-Baptiste Meusnier has made multiple trips to Japan to refine his recipes, discovering new sauces and ingredients. A chance for Jean-Baptiste Meusnier to once again showcase the diversity and richness of ramen.

On the ambiance front, after Tokyo’s street energy and the fish market, Kodawari Ueno turns its lens to Japan’s street-side stations, zeroing in on the stalls tucked directly beneath them — lively hubs where locals unwind after work. Ueno even nods to Tokyo’s iconic railway hub. Taking it a step further, the counter and tables tremble as if a train were rolling by, and Jean-Baptiste Meusnier promises a full-immersion experience.

So, when and where should you head to check out Kodawari Ueno, the third addition to Kodawari Ramen? For now, the exact address remains under wraps, but we can reveal that the new spot will be nestled in the heart of Paris. A public opening is imminent, so stay tuned. Our instincts tell us it’s going to draw a crowd. And as with Kodawari, first come, first served!
