Last summer many tourists and Parisians have chilled in Grand Train bars, restaurants and playgrounds. This pop-up bar had then settled in the 18th arrondissement within a railroad depot.
From May to October 2016 Parisians and tourists could enjoy this 6,000 m² space displaying bars, restaurants and about twenty locomotives.
After setting up in 2014 near La Cité de La Mode et Du Design and in 2015 in the 18th arrondissement within the SNCF's former railroad depot in La Chapelle, this year Grand Train becomes Ground Control Paris again - the famous free, curious and ephemeral bar and living space.
For over three months the most curious visitors have rushed through the various alleys of this ephemeral space in order to enjoy concerts, restaurants and bars but also a barber shop, a bike shed, markets, exhibitions... and a 2,000 m² field to garden!
Good news! Ground Control is back in Paris with a new address opening on Thursday May 18, 2017! Let's meet at the Halle Charolais terrace, a secret space belonging to SNCF Immobilier within walking distance from the Gare de Lyon.
You can discover the new venue at the 81 Rue de Charolais in the 12th arrondissement, the pop-up terrace is likely to gather a lot of people all summer long.
On the menu? You will chill on an open-air 1,500-square meter terrace with DJ sets, Fermes de Gally's kitchen gardens, gardening workshops and solarium to get a tan, producers' market, 6 food-service points set in the RATP's trains and buses so you will be safe from the rain if it decides to come, and 3 refreshment areas to quench your thirst.
Be sure to remember that this time, Ground Control will give organic farming the pride of place with a selection of very refreshing drinks.
Finally an paying system app will be available just like during festivals to make your life easier!
On May 18 to 21, Ground Control will organize an inaugural weekend.
