What is a mochi donut? As its name suggests, it is the blending of a donut and a mochi, of course. Imagine, the smoothness of a mochi on one hand and the warmth and crunch of a donut on the other, and there you are, drooling already. Well, we can see you coming, this stuff is surely heavy and fat! Well, it tastes light and airy, and is easy to eat, actually.
For your information, the real name of the mochi donut is Son de Ring, coming from Pão de queijo (a Brazilian recipe of cheese based on tapioca flour). They are inspired by the Japanese Poi mochi, the first mochi donuts based on sticky rice flour, and created in 1992 in Hawaii!
