It was some thrilling news we read in 2019: La Samaritaine was to house a hotel! And what a hotel: a hotel from group Cheval Blanc famous for the palace in Courchevel, a luxury hotel in St Tropez and St Barts. For this extraordinary place, LVMH – owner of Cheval Blanc – has been able to rely on renown architect Peter Marino who let nothing to chance. He wanted to let the light in thanks to ecru and mineral colored furniture.
As you may have guessed, Cheval Blanc Paris is a five-star hotel aiming at being considered as a palace. It enjoys one major asset: its location close to the Seine river. The hotel will feature 72 bedrooms and suites, all with views on the Seine. Small but considerable precision, we talk 26 bedrooms – the smallest being 45sqm – and 46 suites – including one covering 1,000sqm including a 12.5-m long swimming pool. The price for one night will start from €1,150. For such a price you get unobstructed views on Paris thanks to picture windows.
For Parisians and tourists, four restaurants welcome foodies. Discover Plénitude, the gourmet restaurant set on the 1st floor and managed by chef Arnaud Donckele – former chef of Cheval Blanc St Tropez and granted three Michelin starred and given 19/20 by Gault et Millau – alongside the overly talented pastry chef Maxime Frédéric – who left George V to go to Cheval Blanc.
Contemporary brasserie, Le Tout Paris comes to the 7th floor with incredible views from the 650sqm panoramic terrace. The 7th floor is entirely devited to food, and also houses Langosteria, an Italian seafood bar, created in 2007 in Milan.
At Limbar, the restaurant-bar set on the ground floor, fall for the baked good menu featuring sweet and savory offers by pastry chef Maxime Frédéric, served from breakfast to afternoon tea.
Then, by night, the place changes and becomes a cocktail bar, the ideal location to discover new flavors and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
Cheval Blanc Paris also features an exclusive Spa, the first Dior Spa including several rooms and six suites, a place “where savoir-faire heightens expertise, and where dreams always inspire reality”.
Also enjoy a 30m-long swimming pool for wonderfully relaxing moments gazing at the Seine.
LVMH intends to provide “more than just an address, Cheval Blanc Paris is a destination in itself, dedicated to creating true Epicurean harmony. One that speaks to, and wins over, the senses, suspending time to forge lasting memories. Choice moments that are both tailormade and private, always”, thanks to an expert team “that always strives for excellence”, mastering refinement and sophistication “that naturally exceed expectations, with a flair for spontaneous initiative. Pure sensibility and discernment are never far, as masterminded by visionaries, artists, and Maison collaborators”.
With this project, LVMH is to make of the La Samaritaine the new Bon Marché in town, a place of life where people can enjoy the best of the city. Lifestyle, gastronomy, cosmetics, fashion, leather goods in the heart of Paris to make the group bolster its famous reputation in one of the most iconic locations in Paris.
