Let’s run to Libra set a stone’s throw from the Champ de Mars in Paris 7th arrondissement to discover this small and charming restaurant featuring an open-plan kitchen. Including barely twenty seats, this restaurant aims at being friendly and welcoming, like at home.
On the spot, we discover a décor both industrial and ethnic, a lovely mix of genres like the cuisine served. Colorful objects from Iran, cozy pillows, wrought iron and large wooden table, it’s all very charming.
Running the restaurant, Sayeh Zomorrodi offering us modern and original dishes like small bites to share. Spices, saffron, rose, herbs and dry fruits, here’s everything you need to shake your taste buds up.
The chef enjoys mixing Persian flavors with French classics using fresh and seasonal ingredients. And obviously, everything is homemade.
Go for the tasting menu for 2: a true sensorial experience. Enjoy the pan-fried eggplant with curd whey that is both crispy and smooth with small walnuts chunks, feta with herbs and walnuts topped with a crispy dome and the exquisite cognac-flambéed chorizo served with saffron sauce.
Let’s continue with the excellent orange-marinated cod caramelized with honey, the saffron chicken ballotine and its delicious sauce, the Torshe steak with walnuts and herbs, smooth and sour with pomegranate, the whole served with saffron rice.
To end this meal on a high note, there’s nothing quite like homemade and exotic desserts. Chocolate mousse with chocolate mendiant and pistachio sprinklers and saffron-rose ice cream, it’s so good.
Let’s make our taste buds travel too, shall we?
