Anco, the new and fantastic restaurant in the Bercy neighborhood

A high-quality bistronomic food at an affordable price, it’s at Anco that this magic happens. This new restaurant is willing to shake things up in Bercy and it’s a success!

Excluding some not-really attractive brasseries, it’s hard to find a place where to eat correctly in Bercy before watching a movie at the Cinémathèque Française or after a show at the AccorHotels Arena.

From now on, there’s no more problem since Anco is THE new spot to host your pre-dinner drinks with friends or your more intimate dinners. Set in a former steakhouse, Anco enjoys a beautiful surface (about 500-sqm) allowing it to welcome large groups and throw concert-parties in a very friendly and good atmosphere.

As for us, we went as a small group and sat in a small and lovely corner by the beautiful transparent and filled wine cellar with wines from small winemakers, including grands crus and even organic wines.

In the kitchen, both chefs Nadia Mansouri and Adrien Capiez work hard to brilliantly revisit bistronomy. They make a point of honor choosing quality products and everything that leaves the kitchen is homemade.

Moreover, lunch set-menus are super affordable, naming €17 including a starter and a main course or a main course and a dessert, €21 for starter, main course and dessert; and dinner menus cost €25 and €31 for the same set-menus. There’s no reason to deny yourself such as delicious occasion and it’s perfect because the whole menu is very tantalizing and mouthwatering.

We had the chance to taste most of the dishes available and what can we say, this culinary journey was unforgettable!

As a starter, we went for the oeuf parfait and mushroom cream (€9), homemade gnocchis, serrano, comté cheese and jus corsé (€14), a delight; the whelk tartare, fresh herbs and green jus (€10), as well as the marinated salmon, candied beetroot and kefir lime (€12). Starters that are exquisite, worked very finely and with lot of ingenuity.

Moving on to main courses, the yellow poultry supreme (€20) was served with delicious homemade mashed potatoes with semi-salt butter and jus corsé; and the Thai cod (€22) delighted us with how tasty the grey shrimp broth was, counterbalanced by the sweetness of pak choï. The pork belly (€21) was very crispy and the corn cream and chorizo pairing was very-well thought.

Tartare lovers, don’t miss the knife-cut Charolais beef tartare (€17) prepared in an original fashion with pine nuts, cilantro and soy sauce. We also fell in love with the jumbo shrimp risotto (€18) and its crustacean emulsion. Our taste buds still remember it.

To beautifully wrap this meal up and on a sweet note, we went for the vanilla, mango-passion, ginger and lemongrass cheesecake (€9), ultra-fresh; the soft chocolate cake with rosemary and pop-corn (€10); the lime shortbread with mint and Timut pepper meringue (€10); and the candied pear with salted butter caramel, hazelnut crumble and thyme ice cream (€9). Modern and fresh desserts plated with as much care as for main courses and starters.

Anco provides a high-quality bistronomic food brilliantly mastered by the two chefs and fitting all budgets. One of our most beautiful culinary discoveries of this early 2019.
