Feel like making summer last a bit more? Head to the Louis Vins, the restaurant nestled on St-Geneviève Mount in Paris 5th arrondissement, in the heart of the Latin Quarter, that reopened this past Wednesday September 1, and now serving a new spirit collection and new culinary creations by chef Mélanie Serre.
The latter – after working at Atelier Étoile by Joël Robuchon – took over the restaurant in September 2020, but the health crisis did not help to make her share her love for gastronomy. Accompanied by her friend Bertrand Guillou-Valentin for the spirit menu, the chef yet offers this Fall a wonderful menu, still a bit summery to make things last. Fresh tomato soup, eggplant royale, semi-cooked red gurnard carpaccio, sweet pickled cucumber, Ardèche honey and lemon mousse… Delicious flavors to discover!
Or you can still have Joël Dupuch’s oysters, lobster barbajuans seasoned with Espelette pepper, Mangalitza ham or one of the house’s specialties, the pâté en croute. Moving on to drinks, Louis Vins gives pride of place to French alcohol from independent producers and invites you to discover their selection of gins from all over the world. As for cocktails, Bertrand Guillou-Valentin also offers the house’s timeless classics such as the famous Porn Star Martini as a tribute to their friend Douglas Ankrah, also creator of the drink. A cocktail based on vanilla vodka and fresh passion, served with a shot of champagne.
It would be silly to miss this fantastic spot!
