Stories about parents fighting to keep, save or find their children are more and more common in movies. After “Stillwater” with Matt Damon, recently released, here is “My Son”, a brand-new story of a father ready to do it all to find his lost son. “My Son” thriller opens on November 3, 2021 and is directed by Christian Carion.
Although starring an Anglo-Saxon cast, “My Son”, is directed by a French, Christian Carion. He has directed “The Girl from Paris”, “Joyeux Noël” (Merry Christmas) with Danny Boon, “Farewell”, and “Mon Garçon” with Guillaume Canet and Mélanie Laurent. Furthermore, “My Son”, is nothing else by the UK remake of “Mon Garçon”.
In “My Son”, Carion who once again worked on the scenario with Laure Irmann directs James McAvoy (lead part in “Glass”, and Pr. Xavier in Marvel…) and Claire Foy (“The Girl in the Spider’s Web”, “First Man”, “The Crown” series…) as the parents. As well as Gary Lewis he already directed in “Joyeux Noël”.
Plot:
Divorced, Edmond Murray (McAvoy) has gotten away from his wife and his son to pursue an international career. He suddenly must return to the Highlands because his 7-year-old has gone.
