The Black Phone”, a horror movie by Blumhouse Productions, opens on February 2, 2022 in movie theaters.

The Black Phone” is based on a short story of the same name, published in 2004 by Joe Hill. Produced by horror movie specialist Jason Blum (and his studios) this adaptation is directed by Scott Derrickson who is also specialized in horror and fantastic movies. We owe him “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” (2005), “Sinister” (2012), “Deliver Us from Evil” (2014) and “Doctor Strange” (2016).

In “The Black Phone”, Derrickson directs Ethan Hawke (“The Purge” series on Prime Video, “The Guilty” on Netflix…), James Ransone (“It: Chapter 2”), E. Roger Mitchel (“Cell Phone”, “Captive”, “Goosebumps”) and Jeremy Davies. As well as the young Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw (“The Curse of La Llorona”, “Ant-Man and the Wasp”) as the children.

Plot:

A child is kidnapped. He is locked in a soundproofed basement, surrounded by the remnants of other victims. When the night fall, the phone – yet unplugged – starts to ring…
