In the interests of the public and to take part in the collective endeavor to try and stop the coronavirus spread, the Irish in France association and the Centre Culturel Irlandais (CCI)are cancelling the Saint Patrick's Day parade initially planned on Saturday March 14, 2020 at 1 p.m.

No Saint Patrick's Day Parade in Paris this year! "Given the current circumstances and the recent directives from the French government concerning events with an audience of more than one thousand people, unfortunately CCI and Irish in France are obliged to cancel both CCI's St Patrick's Day family events on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and Irish in France's St Patrick's Day parade on Saturday afternoon. We do this in the public interest and to support efforts to contain the Corona virus."

From March 16 to 18, 2019 the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris invites you to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day as it should be with a series of events promoting the Irish gastronomy, music and culture. This Christian celebration traditionally celebrated on March 17 is a genuine moment of sharing and friendship that could be summed up in three words: beer, music and dance. Even though, this year, we could add the word “parade”.

As a matter of fact, on Sunday March 14, 2020 brace yourself because it will be all-things green in Paris! For the second year in a row, Irish in France and the Centre Culturel Irlandais invite you to a grand and free parade open to all, alongside the members of the Irish community in Paris. You're expected from 12:30 p.m. in the Latin Quarter.

The parade will leave the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris 5th arrondissement at 1 p.m. before walking around the Panthéon, by the Université de la Sorbonne, then turning right to rue Descartes. Then, it will storm the rue Mouffetard before returning to the CCI. To fully experience this very nice event, don’t hesitate to dress in green to paint Paris with the colors of Ireland.

If you want to enjoy the Saint Patrick’s Day festivities before the parade, meet at 12 p.m. to attend a show by Kila. Once the parade over, keep entertaining with show by the Lords of Strut. On the menu, farcical shows, crazy pranks for a show paced with acrobatics acts and wild dance!

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to all! Beannachtaí na Féile Padraig Ort!
