Bastille Day 2025: fireworks and firemen's ball in Pontault-Combault (77)

Every year, the French national holiday is celebrated on July 14! And in Pontault-Combault, the festivities take place on Sunday, July 13 , 2025, so you can enjoy your holiday after all the partying! A festive evening featuring the traditional fireworks display, fired at 11pm from theEtang du Coq, a true moment of magic and pyrotechnics. Hundreds of colorful stars will light up the sky to the delight of young and old alike.

Also on the program is the firemen's ball, starting at 8pm at the fire station, 1 rue de l'Epinette. For the fireworks, a chauffeur-driven"microbus " will be available for senior citizens and people with reduced mobility. Departure and return at 10pm from the Centre Technique Municipal. And you don't need to book to take it.

This historic date refers to the storming of the Bastille, the famous royal prison, on July 14, 1789. On that day, five cannons taken in the morning from Les Invalides were placed in front of the Bastille by French guards. At around 5 p.m., the Bastille garrison surrendered, and the Parisians, who had come to collect gunpowder and bullets, took over the Bastille. A celebration that also refers to the Fête de la Fédération of 1790, the storming of the Bastille having been ignored, not to say hated, by the country's highest authorities.
