Nina Métayer, twice crowned best pastry chef in the world, delights us with her online Délicatisserie, her pastry counter at Printemps du Goût, her pastry counter at Les Halles d'Issy and now her Comptoir Destination Chocolat at La Samaritaine.
For Christmas 2025, the pastry chef has redoubled her efforts to offer gourmets 4 logs in a variety of flavors, each with the promise of delighting and surprising our taste buds.
Looking for a Christmas log that's out of the ordinary? Nina Métayer is spoiling us this year with her "Noël en Alsace" collection. The world's best pastry chef draws inspiration from her childhood memories to bring us creations available from December 3 to 31, 2025 in boutiques and by delivery.
The pastry chef tells us:"For this collection, I brought together childhood memories: the enchantment of Christmas markets in Alsace, the smell of the Christmas tree, the pleasure of decorating it with the family". This region has been cultivating its Christmas traditions since the 16th century, with Strasbourg's Christkindelsmärik, one of Europe's oldest Christmas markets. A great source of inspiration!
The highlight of the collection? A log created in 2025 in the shape of a giant Christmas ball. This masterpiece evokes the moment when the most beautiful ornament is chosen to decorate the tree. Beneath the hand-painted milk chocolate sphere lies a fine entremets with flavors ofcitrus, gingerbread, honey, passion fruit and cinnamon nails. The combination of spices, honey and citrus won us over! And a little bonus: the base contains 20 little Christmas fritters and beggars hidden under a breakable chocolate shell. Perfect for prolonging family fun.
Our first favorite is the pistachio log. This delicacy plays cleverly with textures: fleur de sel de l'île de Ré crispiness, airy mousse, smooth creaminess and praline follow in harmonious succession. Pistachios from Iran, selected by Grégoire Bosquet, bring that much-appreciated authenticity. Each bite reveals a new facet of this distinctive flavor.
The exotic log transports us to the tropics, with its crispy coconut, mango and passion fruit compote. A sunny interlude in the heart of winter, in pleasant contrast to the Alsatian spirit of the collection.
Our second favorite: the cardamom chocolate log, a real departure from our usual fare! Dark chocolate 70% joins forces with green cardamom to create a surprisingly delicate accord. Between the brownie, the pecan slivers and the light mousse, it's a festival of textures that appeals to both chocolate lovers and the curious in search of something new.

Once again,Nina Métayer has created a collection that combines expertise and emotion. These Yule logs tell us a beautiful story, that of a childhood in Alsace, where the magic of the festive season takes on its full meaning. The perfect way to celebrate Christmas.
