Halloween 2026 in Nemours: free storytelling at the media library

Women who transform, witches, and four stories to listen to together: the Nemours Media Library is celebrating Halloween with Sacred Witches!, on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 3 p.m. This free storytelling session is aimed at children from age 5 and up, and their parents.

Transformation takes center stage. In fairy-tale lore, a change of form can push a story from the everyday into the miraculous. It’s around this theme that the library gathers its four stories, under the title Contes des femmes qui se métamorphosent.

The program is designed to be shared across generations. Parents are invited to read the stories with their children, in an event where speech and imagination take center stage. For this Halloween outing, the witches come together through tales offered by the media library.

The venue carries a long-standing reading tradition: Nemours’s first library dates back to the mid-18th century. The establishment moved to Rue Gaston Darley in the 1980s and today is part of the Pays de Nemours library network. The Halloween session on October 31 reinforces this role as a place for discovering stories during the All Saints’ Day holidays.

Admission is free and open to all, while spaces last. Join us at 2 Rue Gaston Darley, Nemours. For information, call 01 64 78 44 23 or bibliotheque@ville-nemours.fr.
