Join us on September 19 and 20 to visit Chevreuse's finest monuments in the Yvelines, for Heritage Days 2026.

Looking for great tips to enjoy the Journées du Patrimoine 2026? Surrounded by trees and set in the Chevreuse valley natural park, the town of Chevreuse sits along the Yvette river and offers a true haven of peace in the heart of nature, already well known to cyclists and hikers. But the commune of the Yvelines has even more riches to offer! In addition to its vegetal heritage, Chevreuse also boasts a rich cultural heritage, which shines through in the various monuments that dot the town.

Castle, church, priory, remnants of ancient buildings: the region’s history unfolds through these magnificent structures, which have stood the test of time to offer a fleeting glimpse of the past. Come and explore these exceptional sites on September 19 and 20, 2026: as part of the Heritage Days, several monuments in Chevreuse will open their doors to the public for a weekend of discoveries and activities.

But how and why are these monuments preparing special tours for this September weekend? Like thousands of others in France, these places are taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine, an annual cultural event that allows us to discover all the historical and heritage treasures that adorn our regions. It's a not-to-be-missed opportunity for the curious and culture-loving!

    Between Worlds

    ----------------

    ### Photographic Heritage, Immersive Experience, and a Dialogue Between the Arts

To mark the 2026 European Heritage Days dedicated to photographic heritage, the Musée GRATALOUP presents Entre les Mondes_, an immersive exhibition that pairs the painter GRATALOUP with photographer Antoine POUPEL.

The exhibit guides visitors on a sensorial journey through painting, photography, music, and light. Antoine POUPEL’s images — recognizable, among other things, for collaborations with the equestrian troupe Zingaro and the Crazy Horse cabaret — converse with the luminous, symbolic world of GRATALOUP, exploring themes of passage, appearance, and transformation.

The show is complemented by immersive podcasts, bilingual content, material suitable for younger audiences, and a sound-and-light performance projected inside the priory’s vaulted spaces.

Taken together, the installation invites visitors to experience art as a sensory, contemplative journey rather than a mere gallery visit.

Participation requirements : Please bring your smartphones and smartphone earphones to listen to the podcasts – Heritage Days special rate: €6 for all visitors aged 6 and up – Preferred rate | No reservation required
