Among them, a veritable treasure trove for the nose, nestled in the Yvelines: theOsmothèque, the Versailles perfume conservatory. Its name, taken from the Greek "osmè" (smell) and "theke" (reserve), says it all... here lies a living memory of scents. The first of its kind in the world, this unique association protects more than 3,200 fragrances, 400 of which have disappeared from commercial channels. Much more than just a collection of bottles, it safeguards a fragile and volatile heritage of fragrant creations that leave a lasting imprint on our memories. A veritable sanctuary for perfume, theOsmothèque also passes on the secrets of a little-known profession, opening its doors to neophytes, amateurs and professionals alike.
