Heritage Days 2025: a themed ball at Château de Breteuil (78)

Château de Breteuil is taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine on Sunday, September 21, 2025. During the day, you can visit the castle of Perrault's fairy tales, before dancing the night away to a sumptuous ball. Admission is subject to a charge.

The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) are the event of the autumn to discover or rediscover the jewels of our History! From little-known sites to must-see monuments and imposing châteaux, why not set your sights on the sumptuous Château de Breteuil ? For one day, on Sunday September 21, 2025, admire the monument's treasures and enjoy a fairytale ballroom dance! Although the ball is free, admission to the monument is still charged despite the Heritage Days.

Follow in the footsteps of the Château de Breteuil 's history , its collections and fantastic 18th-century furniture, and take a real leap back in time. It's an ideal family outing, since the Château offers visitors of all ages the chance to immerse themselves in Charles Perrault's fairy tales , through its famous scenography featuring 50 wax figures from the Musée Grévin. From Peau d'âne to Little Red Riding Hood, not forgetting Puss in Boots, this is the perfect way to fall back into childhood!

It's also an opportunity to stroll through the magnificent gardens of this 75-hectare estate. There's a French garden and an English garden known as the Jardin des Princes, as well as the famous labyrinth and a romantic park. A breath of fresh air in an idyllic setting in the heart of the Yvelines!

And on the occasion of the Journées du Patrimoine, the château is hosting an incredible event: a Grand Bal as seen in the 19th century, led by the Carnets de Bal association, from 3pm to 5:30pm. We're off for a few hours of frenzied dancing, to the sound of music from the era, among dancers in period costume!
