6,600 positions are now up for grabs at RATP. It's a massive and historic recruitment campaign with a single objective: to get metro traffic back to normal so that the Paris 2024 Games and the Rugby World Cup can run smoothly.

For several months now, RATP users have been complaining about malfunctions in the Paris underground: there are fewer metros, more and more passengers on the trains, and incidents and other breakdowns are becoming more and more frequent. To remedy this situation, Jean Castex, the CEO of RATP and former Prime Minister, announced several weeks ago that he wanted to launch a massive recruitment campaign. This is starting now, with 6,600 positions to be filled, including 4,900 permanent positions.

All of the 250 jobs needed for the group to function properly are concerned, but some are more important than others. 2,700 bus drivers, 700 station agents, 400 metro drivers and 120 security guards are in demand. Maintenance also has 400 positions to fill. In order to make it more attractive, salaries have been increased by 5.7%. This is certainly of interest to the 198,000 people registered with the Pôle Emploi in Paris.

According to a report in Le Parisien, some permanent contracts could even be obtained in a single day. This Friday, February 17, an express recruitment session took place in Noisiel (Seine-et-Marne). This one was focused on maintenance positions, but RATP has indicated that it will organize 60 other such days during the year 2023.
