This All Saints' Day weekend, Paris is announcing special opening hours for its cemeteries. Here's everything you need to know before visiting one of the 20 cemeteries managed by the City of Paris.

This Saturday, November 1, 2025, is All Saints' Day. A time chosen by many French people to pay their respects at the graves of their loved ones, and to put flowers on their graves. As revealed by the City of Paris, over 200,000 people are expected to visit Paris cemeteries on November 1st.

To welcome these visitors in the best possible conditions, the capital is announcing the implementation of " special measures " in the city's cemeteries. The program includes " enhanced reception, easier travel and specially flowered cemeteries ".

Cemetery conservation offices will also be exceptionally open on Saturdays and Sundays before, during and after All Saints' Day (Saturday, October 25, Sunday, October 26, Saturday, November 1, Sunday, November 2, Saturday, November 8, Sunday, November 9), to answer all questions relating to the funeral industry.

Paris has 20 cemeteries: 14 within the city limits and 6 outside the city limits, managed by the City of Paris. " Parisian cemeteries include more than 630,000 concessions and 7 million deceased," says the capital.

And last but not least, to make it easier to get around the cemeteries within the city walls, where private vehicles are totally prohibited on November 1st, the City of Paris is making minibuses and light vehicles available to users free of charge. These will be on the road this Friday October 31st, Saturday November 1st and Sunday November 3rd in the eight largest cemeteries in Paris (Père-Lachaise, Montmartre, Montparnasse, Pantin, Thiais, Saint-Ouen, Ivry and Bagneux).

Last but not least, cemeteries are particularly flowery this All Saints' Day, with special attention paid to military divisions and war memorials.
