France Music Week: what you need to know about this popular event

In June, there's no shortage of cultural events in Paris: Nuit Blanche, Rendez-vous aux jardins, not to mention festivals(Solidays, We Love Green...) and the unmissable Fête de la musique. In the run-up to this popular, festive and free event, a new one is due to be launched this year. Its name? France Music Week.

The announcement went somewhat unnoticed last year. However, French President Emmanuel Macron had shared his wish to launch this new event in 2025. " I'd like us to create a major festival like those that exist in Miami or Amsterdam, which would first of all enable all the professionals (composers, arrangers, artists, the entire production world, etc.) to get together in the same way as we do for Fashion Week, and also to be able to have some very big concerts, some very big festivals in the days leading up to it, with the Fête de la Musique as the apotheosis," the head of state told Radio FG last June.

Then, in November 2024, at the Mazette club, Culture Minister Rachida Dati once again spoke of the arrival of Music Week in 2025. " It's going to be a whole week, it's going to be a major international music event, it's a first. It ' s going to have content, it's going to be international, it's going to be exported, it's going to be recognized," she said. In her speech to cultural players and the press, published at the end of January, Rachida Dati confirmed the launch of the first France Music Week in June 2025. Since then, we've learned more about this ground-breaking event. As far as dates are concerned, the event is not to be missed from Monday June 16 to Saturday June 21, 2025.
