The week of April 28, 2025 marks the end of the school vacations for zone C. So, for many, it's back to school or back to work. But rejoice! The weather should be fine this week in Paris and the Ile-de-France region. So get ready to soak up the sun again, and enjoy rising temperatures with summer-like weather!
The reason for this change in weather? The arrival of a cold drop off Portugal. This will lead to a " heat plume ", with warm air rising over France. " During spring heat waves (April or May), we often speak of a "Saharan heat plume" when hot air rises abruptly over France or Western Europe, carrying sand into the atmosphere ", explains La Chaîne Météo. Over the next week, the mercury is set to rise, and could even exceed 25°C in some regions. So what can we expect in Paris and the Île-de-France region?
On Monday April 28, 2025, the sun should be out all day, according to Météo France. A few light clouds may appear in the afternoon, but nothing to worry about. As for temperatures, expect between 15°C and 17°C in the morning, then between 19°C and 22°C in the afternoon.
On Tuesday April 29, the weather is expected to be almost identical and as dry as ever over a large part of the Ile-de-France region, with sunny skies. Beware, however, of possible showers in the south of Seine-et-Marne in the afternoon. The mercury will continue to rise, and could reach 25°C in places in the middle of the day.
No change is forecast for Wednesday April 30, the last day of April. Still according to Météo France, the skies will be little cloudy over much of the Île-de-France region. Once again, possible showers are forecast for the afternoon in the south of the Seine-et-Marne region, around Melun and Fontainebleaux in particular. Temperatures will remain mild and very pleasant, with the mercury close to 26°C in places.
Thursday, May 1, a public holiday, should please all Ile-de-France residents, as the sun is expected to shine almost everywhere in the region, morning and afternoon. Once again, temperatures will be ideal for sunbathing and relaxing on terraces or in parks and gardens, with the mercury reaching 26°C locally in some départements.
Friday May 2 should continue to be very pleasant, with possible showers forecast for northern Seine-et-Marne. Temperatures are expected to remain mild, fluctuating between 22°C and 25°C in the afternoon.
OnSaturday, May 3, the sun is still expected to dominate, but clouds may make an appearance. The mercury will dip slightly, but still remain mild, with an average of 19°C in the afternoon.
Finally, a change is forecast for Sunday May 4, 2025, according to Météo France, which predicts the return of rain to the west and south of the Ile-de-France region.
For the time being, these are only forecasts. But if this summer-like weather continues, it'll be good news for Parisians. It's an opportunity to enjoy a mild, even hot, and sunny May 1st bridge!
