Île-de-France: the 2025 prize list for the best traditional baguette in the greater Paris region

His name is Zouhair Byadi, and he won first prize in the 2025 competition for the "best traditional French baguette in the Paris region". Visit his bakery in the Yvelines to taste it!

The Fête du Pain is currently in full swing in Paris. Held on the forecourt of Notre-Dame de Paris until May 11, 2025, this gourmet event is an opportunity to celebrate the traditional French baguette, but also to meet bakers who are proud of their craft.

For the occasion, the Fête du Pain offers tastings, entertainment and demonstrations. Competitions and prize-giving events are also organized. On Saturday May 3, the 2025 competition for the"best traditional French baguette in Île-de-France - Grande Couronne" was held. Bringing together artisan bakers from Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne and Val-d'Oise, the competition tested the nerves of the participants.

After touching, smelling and tasting the various traditional baguettes made for the occasion, the jury reached its verdict. After deliberation, Zouhair Byadi of boulangerie Ferry in Meulan-en-Yvelines was crowned the overall winner. This is not the first time this baker from Yvelines has won a prize. In 2024, Zouhair Byadi came third in the competition for the best traditional baguette in Yvelines (employee category).

Second place went to Frédéric Boulay of Boulay bakery in Beaumont-sur-Oise, Val-d'Oise. A few weeks ago, the baker from the 95 region came first in the Val-d'Oise's best traditional baguette competition (employer category).

Finally, Anthony Beuchet, from Le Fournil d'autrefois in Étampes (91) came third in the "Best Traditional French Baguette in Île-de-France - Grande Couronne 2025" competition.
