To cope with unusually high temperatures, Parisians are seeking a bit of cooling, and the capital has set up cooled rooms where people can take shelter from the sun, in addition to parks and pools that stay open at night during this period.
The extreme heat has gripped the capital for several days, with temperatures hovering around 35°C in Paris. With this near-scorching spell, all that city dwellers yearn for is a bit of cool air! If you can seek refuge in shopping centers or in many shops that offer air conditioning when it’s too hot at home, the city has also opened cooling rooms, often located in town halls, where you can ride out these days a little too sunny.
Parks and gardens are also a good alternative for finding shade and a few cool spots, especially as they are open late into the evening during this period, as are swimming pools, which extend their opening hours for the occasion.
