To the east of the capital, a violent fire is underway in a building under construction in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. The 8-storey building burst into flames in the early evening of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, and explosions were heard by various witnesses. Thebuilding in question is theMessager, not far from Gare de Lyon and Bercy. According to Le Figaro, 180 firefighters and 60 trucks were mobilized to bring the blaze under control, and so far no casualties or injuries have been reported.
In view of the scale of the incident, the authorities are urging people to avoid the area. Impressive images are circulating on social networks, and the smoke from the fire is visible from afar. According to TF1, a security perimeter has been set up between rue de Rambouillet and rue Montgallet: this zone may be extended depending on how the situation develops. The fire broke out on the construction site, and the precise cause is not yet known. Caution is still advised for residents and visitors to the area.
