From October 24 to 26, 2025, the Grand Palais opens its doors to the Art Basel Paris event. For three days, the sublime Parisian landmark will host this major event in the world of contemporary art, with 206 galleries announced for the occasion. But Art Basel Paris is also punctuated by a series ofexhibitions andinstallations to be discovered along a contemporary art trail. For the occasion, the sublime Parisian avenue that separates the Petit and Grand Palais will become exclusively pedestrianized to host seven monumental sculptures and installations by Thomas Houseago, Leiko Ikemura, Muller Van Severen, Stefan Rinck and Arlene Shechet.

But to ensure the smooth running of this major artistic event, the Préfecture de police de Paris has issued a decree, announcing the temporary modification of traffic on avenue Winston Churchill from October 18 to 27, 2025. This is bad news for motorists accustomed to using this thoroughfare to reach the Avenue des Champs-Élysées from the Pont Alexandre III or the Cours la Reine, and vice versa.
In detail, the Préfecture de police warns that"traffic of all types of vehicle is prohibited from October 18, 2025 at 7:00 am to October 27, 2025 at 10:00 pm, on avenue Winston Churchill", in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. "Vehicles used to commit these offences may be immobilized and impounded", the Prefecture adds.
