Starting this Saturday, December 13, 2025, residents of the Paris region can take to the skies thanks to the inauguration of the very first cable car in Île-de-France. With the Câble C1, it is now possible to travel from Créteil to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges in just 18 minutes. But how much does a trip on this urban cable car cost? We have the answer.

This innovative mode of urban transport is likely to attract many curious visitors, unless you're afraid of heights! From Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Câble C1 will take off in Val-de-Marne. This cable car, the first of its kind in Île-de-France, aims to open up several neighborhoods in the department and thus offer residents an alternative to the current buses.

The 4.5 km long Câble C1 will serve five stations and fly over four municipalities in Val-de-Marne: Créteil, Limeil-Brévannes, Valenton, and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. With 100% electric cabins and a scheduled service every 30 seconds during peak hours, this urban cable car in the Paris region will connect Créteil to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges in just 18 minutes, compared to 40 minutes currently by bus.

So, are you interested in discovering this new and unusual mode of transport in Île-de-France? See you on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. for the launch. Several free events are planned around the five Cable C1 stations to mark the occasion. Don't forget to bring your ticket! But how much will a trip on the first cable car in Île-de-France cost?

Cable C1: How much does a trip between Cable C1 and metro Line 8 (Créteil station) cost?

For Navigo pass holders

As explained by Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), traveling on the Câble C1 will cost you nothing if you have aNavigo pass (daily, weekly, monthly, or annual). With this Navigo pass, you can use the C1 "like any other mode of transport (Metro 8 and bus)," says IDFM, adding that "cable car journeys will be included in your pass."

  • C1 Cable routes are included in the Navigo flat-rate fare.

If you use single tickets - Passe Navigo Easy

However, if you are an occasional traveler, then the "surface mode" fare will apply for the C1 cable car, as it does for the bus or tram.

Specifically, if you use single tickets (which can be loaded onto the Navigo Easy pass or smartphone), you will need two tickets and will pay a total of €4.50 for the journey, i.e. €2.50 for metro line 8 (Metro-Train-RER ticket) and €2 for the cable car (Bus-Tram-Cable ticket).

  • Two tickets to purchase: €2.50 for subway (Metro-Train-RER) travel + €2 for the C1 Cable (Bus-Tram-Cable). Total cost per trip: €4.50.

If you have the Passe Navigo Liberté+

If you have aNavigo Liberté + pass, the cost will be lower because, as IDFM points out, transfers between the rail and surface networks are free. In this specific case, it will cost €1.99 to travel on the Câble C1 and metro line 8.

  • Discounted ticket price plus free transfers between the train network and surface transportation. Traveling on the Câble C1 and the metro now costs just €1.99.
