On wednesday, December 31, 2025, as every year, the Champs-Élysées is bound to be packed with revelers celebrating the arrival of the new year.
To "ensure the safety of people and property" during the New Year celebrations for 2026, the Police Prefecture has issued a decree temporarily modifying parking and traffic regulations in several streets across the 8th, 16th, and 17th districts of Paris. Please note that some of these restrictions will be in effect from December 30, 2025, to January 1, 2026.
Regarding vehicle parking, it will be prohibited from December 30, 2025 at 10:00 PM until January 1, 2026 at 4:00 AM in the following streets and sections, located in the 8th, 16th, and 17th districts:
- Place Charles de Gaulle;
- Rue de Tilsitt;
- Rue de Presbourg;
- Avenue Marceau, between Place Charles de Gaulle and Rue Newton;
- Avenue d’Iéna, between the same points;
- Avenue Kléber, connecting Place Charles de Gaulle to Avenue des Portugais;
- Avenue Victor Hugo, from Place Charles de Gaulle to Rue de Presbourg;
- Avenue Foch, linking Place Charles de Gaulle with Rue de Presbourg;
- Avenue de la Grande Armée, from Place Charles de Gaulle to Tilsitt and Presbourg Streets;
- Avenue Carnot, extending from Place Charles de Gaulle to Tilsitt Street;
- Avenue Mac-Mahon, between the same landmarks;
- Avenue de Wagram, connecting Place Charles de Gaulle and Tilsitt Street.
