After Line 10, two other Paris Metro lines are set to welcome the new MF19 train starting December 2026. Here’s what you need to know.

On October 16th, commuters on the 10th line greeted the news with smiles! And for good reason — the next-generation rail metro was making its debut on this iconic Parisian line. The Paris Metro Line 10 thus became the first to feature the new MF19 metro trains.

But the MF19 isn’t planning to stop there — it aims to operate on many additional lines across the Paris metro network. By the end of 2026, the MF19 will be introduced on two new lines. So, which lines are these? Which routes will passengers need to take to ride the next-generation rail metro? In a press release issued on December 29, Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) announced that the MF19 will be deployed by December 2026 on the bis lines — specifically, lines 3 bis and 7 bis. These lines run between Porte des Lilas and Gambetta, and between Louis Blanc and Pré-Saint-Gervais, respectively. It’s worth noting that line 3 bis is the shortest (with just four stations) and least traveled line in the network, followed by line 7 bis, which has only eight stations.

By December 2026, lines 3 bis and 7 bis will also welcome the MF19 trains. Just like with line 10, this rollout will happen gradually over time.

What's next? Test runs are scheduled for 2026 on Line 13, "with the aim of a commercial rollout of the new trains in 2027", announces IDFM. The MF19 trains are then set to join the Line 12 (2028), the Line 8 (2029), the Line 3 (2031), and the Line 7 (2033).

It’s important to note that the MF19 is a versatile train, described as “a symbol of modernity, designed to meet the challenges of tomorrow and the needs of today.” This next-generation rail metro aims to enhance passenger comfort with features like reversible air conditioning, ergonomic seating, natural lighting, USB ports, and real-time traveler information screens. It also offers various waiting zones tailored for short and long journeys, including dedicated spaces for passengers with reduced mobility.
