To mark the 2025 edition ofPink October, the Institut Curie is launching a new creative challenge: French men and women are invited to create their own pouch. Pouches, small or large, phone pouches, medicine pouches, bazaar pouches... Let your talent and imagination guide you, and create with your own hands this small object, which symbolizes the fight against breast cancer and the support given to patients close to us.
This year, theInstitut Curie is organizing the 20,000 pouches for Curie operation: until September 25, 2025, participants are invited to make their own personalized pouch, and mail it to the Institute (at the following address: Institut Curie - Direction de la communication 70, rue Mouffetard 75005 Paris). You can also share your work on social networks with the keyword #20000PochettesPourCurie.
" For the past two years, the Institut Curie's pouch challenge has been an undeniable success, mobilizing many communities. So, for the 3rd year running, the Institut Curie is once again putting the spotlight on the creation and crafting of pouches as part of its Pink October 2025 mobilization. Make-up pouch, travel pouch, sweet note pouch, tote-bag, small bag... everyone can give free rein to their creativity to create a useful, comforting object, often autographed and a beacon of hope. These handmade and homemade accessories will be distributed throughout October to patients undergoing treatment at the Institut Curie. Every year, they choose and receive these pouches with pleasure ", explains the specializedinstitute.
Each pouch created and sent to the Institute will be donated to patients suffering from this disease. Every year, breast cancer affects around 60,000 more women. While cures are frequent and survival rates high, relapses are still possible. The Institut Curie therefore hopes to collect 20,000 home-made pouches to support those women still affected by the disease.
