Many are eagerly counting down to June 21 to properly mark the arrival of summer, while others can’t wait to reconnect with the iconic and essential Fête de la musique. Every June 21 since 1982, the French take to the streets, to bars and restaurants, and to parks and gardens, letting live music ring out for a full day and evening of free concerts.
In Paris and throughout Île-de-France, the best music picks are plentiful, from rock gigs on a café terrace to classical performances in a museum, a jazz performer in a church, or an electro DJ set in a square.
This year, June 21 falls on a Sunday, and to be clear from the outset, the musical events look set to be plentiful, especially in the Val-d'Oise, where the commune of Deuil-la-Barre plans to tune in, aiming to give residents a fresh edition of the Fête de la musique that is warm, family-friendly and festive.
Located about nine kilometres north of the gates of Paris, the commune of Deuil-la-Barre sits on the border with Épinay-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis), Montmorency, Groslay, Montmagny and Enghien-les-Bains in the Val-d'Oise. Throughout the year, the town hosts a string of cultural events. Recently, Deuil-la-Barre also unveiled its coulée verte!
Sunday, June 21, 2026, for Music Day, the city welcomes CJM'S, the top finalist from Amel Bent's team on the latest season of The Voice on TF1. The artist will perform live at the Parc de la Chevrette. Immediately after, the 2026 winner of Tremplin Jeunes talents, selected at the Festival Musiques actuelles Plaine Vallée, followed by the group US Story.
