It returns on June 21, bringing a smile to many French people who miss their music! The Fête de la musique celebrates its 44th edition this year. On this occasion, a huge lineup of free concerts awaits, outdoors on streets, squares, bridges and boulevards, and also in parks and gardens, bars and restaurants, as well as in churches and museums.
As always, all styles take center stage at the Music Day celebration. Rock, rap, reggae, classical music, electro, and even jazz, blues and R&B... so many genres to get you dancing and singing at the top of your lungs!
Organized for the first time in this country in 1982, the fête de la musique was born at the initiative of Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture, Maurice Fleuret and Christian Dupavillon. At the time, their aim was simple: to launch a major event that would let all musicians perform and make themselves known for a festive evening. For more than 40 years now, the success has stayed strong, and the fête de la musique has delighted many music lovers every June 21!
