Il sol dell'avvenire (Towards a Bright Future) is first and foremost the story of a lost director, out of touch with his century. A dinosaur in the world of cinema, faced with the dazzling success of new streaming platforms - a hilarious scene during an exchange with Netflix is particularly memorable - Giovanni's character is forced to rethink his habits in order to survive in the 21st century.
A director who knows how to film love, without knowing how to love: that's the opening line of this film, which we appreciate for its agility and accuracy.
