Wouf! Once again this year, the Palm Dog has rewarded a pooch who wowed the jury with his performance at the Cannes 2024 Festival!

The winners of the Cannes Film Festival 2024 have been announced. After the Semaine de la Critique, we now discover who has won the Palm Dog 2024 ! Created in 2001, the Palm Dog is awarded each year to the dog or dogs that have particularly shone on screen in the films of the official and parallel selections.

After Brit, the poodle from War Pony in 2022, and Snoop, the border collie from Justine Triet's Anatomie d'une Chute in 2023, this year's doggie honoree is none other than Kodi (aka Cosmos in the film), the dog from Laetitia Dosch's Le Procès du Chien. This is the first film by the actress and now French director, presented in the Un Certain Regard selection.

Avril, a lawyer with a track record of losing cases, has made herself a promise: she'll win her next case! But when Dariuch, a client as desperate as his cause, asks her to defend his faithful companion Cosmos, Avril's convictions take over. And so begins a trial as unexpected as it is turbulent: the trial of the dog.

The film, due in cinemas on September 11, 2024, boasts a fine cast: Laetitia Dosch, François Damiens, Jean-Pascal Zadi, Anne Dorval and... Kodi the dog!
