When the Lino Vartan home, which shelters both seniors and young orphans, must close for health reasons, Milann is forced to accept an invitation from a southern retirement home to house everyone for the summer. The small group boards Alban's bus and heads to the Bel Azur Club, a seaside villa. For the children, who have never had a proper holiday, the arrival on the coast feels like a dream come true — until living alongside the site's longtime residents turns into a tense standoff. The seniors’ war has begun.
In its final act, the story pivots into a near-heist-comedy rhythm, a wink to Ocean's Eleven championed by Kev Adams. Each character leverages their skills to outmaneuver the schemes of a private outfit called “Major Santé.” Set against this backdrop, the film tackles how EHPADs operate and the drift toward profitability in some private facilities — a direct reference to the Orpéa affair, according to the co-screenwriter.
Following Thomas Gilou's first installment, the direction has gone to Claude Zidi Jr., already at work on Les Déguns and Ténor. Joining the cast from the first film — Daniel Prévost, Liliane Rovère, Firmine Richard — are new names making their mark: Jean Reno, Chantal Ladesou, Amanda Lear, Michel Jonasz, and Enrico Macias. The film opened the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival 2024.
