As part of "Ireland Week", and to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, the Centre Culturel Irlandais is proposing several films to be screened at Les 3 Luxembourg cinema, in March 2025.

What better time than St. Patrick's Day to shine the spotlight on Irish culture? The Centre Culturel Irlandais celebrates its culture in all its forms with an unmissablefestival , from March 11 to 20, 2025, in Paris. Concerts, encounters, festive moments: Parisians go green and enjoy the celebrations with a family-friendly program.

The Centre Culturel is also keen to promote its own cinema: this year, once again, the institution is joining forces with the Les 3 Luxembourg cinema to screen and promote Irish films and artists.

Two dates to remember: on March 11 and 18, 2025, film buffs will meet at the 6th arrondissement cinema, to discover two Irish feature films, screened in VOSTFR. On the program: a film that won awards at the Dublin International Film Festival and IFTA 2024, and a film that has already caused a stir...

  • That They May Face The Rising Sun
    Tuesday, March 11 - 7.30pm
    VOSTF, 111 mins.
Joe (Barry Ward) and Kate (Anna Bederke) have returned to the corner of Leitrim where Joe grew up. After years in London, they are strangers among the villagers, most of whom have never left Ireland, or even the region. Their life is peaceful, their door always open - and the teapot full - for walkers. Seasons pass, daily life is punctuated by drama and joy, vigils and reunions, in a vibrant, inhabited countryside.

  • Kneecap
    Tuesday, March 18 - 7:30pm
    VOSTF, 105 mn
Belfast, late 2010s, a music teacher and two self-described "losers" form the hip-hop group Kneecap. Rapping in their native Irish, the rebellious trio soon become the unlikely figureheads of a movement to defend their cultural heritage, and the mouthpieces of a youth in turmoil.

Far from clichés or visions of the past, these films and this festival organized by the Centre Culturel enable us to discover modern, contemporary Ireland, with its beauty, its problems, its hopes and its people. It's a chance to immerse yourself in this rich and unique culture, but also to discover new cinematic horizons.
