The year 2026 looks set to be a busy one for Iron Maiden! Over the coming months, Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, and the rest of the band will be hitting the European stages once again, as they extend their Run for Your Lives World Tour. But that's not all — the British legends are also heading to the big screen this spring!
On their social media, the heavy metal band has announced the upcoming release of Burning Ambition in cinemas. This exclusive documentary will be shown worldwide starting May 7, 2026. In France, fans will have to wait a bit longer until Wednesday, May 13 to catch the film on the big screen. Tickets will go on sale on March 18 via the dedicated website.
So, what can we expect? On social media, Iron Maiden reveals that the film will span five decades and will tell the story of "the meteoric rise of the band, from East End London pubs to the world’s biggest stadiums." Using official archives and interviews with the band members, "Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition" will invite fans to "relive one of the most iconic journeys in music history."
The documentary will also feature exclusive interviews with actor Javier Bardem, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, and Public Enemy frontman Chuck D. Additionally, never-before-seen animated sequences will showcase Eddie, the iconic mascot of Iron Maiden.
Directed by Malcolm Venville, "Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition" is set to attract a large crowd of the band’s fans when it hits theaters this spring. In France, mark your calendars for May 13, 2026!
This isn't the first time Iron Maiden has been celebrated in a documentary. Many still remember the film "Iron Maiden: Flight 666." Released in 2009, this documentary followed the band during the first leg of their "Somewhere Back in Time" tour, which took place between February and March 2008.
For fans in the Île-de-France region, here's a reminder that Iron Maiden will deliver a spectacular concert at Paris La Défense Arena in June 2026. This comes just a year after their two electric performances at the same venue in the Hauts-de-Seine. The band will also perform at Hellfest on June 19 and in Lyon on June 28.
