Mi Amor, Guillaume Nicloux's new feature, lands in theaters on May 6, 2026. This psychological thriller fronted by Pom Klementieff, Benoît Magimel and Freya Mavor follows a DJ confronted with the sudden disappearance of her friend during a stay in the Canary Islands. Between an improvised investigation and a loss of bearings, the film sits in a more sensory and paranoid vein of the director's cinema.

Romy travels to Gran Canaria with her friend Chloé to spin at a techno night. The day after the event, Chloé disappears without a trace. With help from Vincent, the club owner portrayed by Benoît Magimel, Romy tries to uncover what happened. Her investigation gradually drags her into a suffocating mood of fear and suspicion where certainties begin to falter.
Guillaume Nicloux says the project took shape after a visit to Gran Canaria’s Cocodrilo Park. The director also speaks of his fascination with disappearance stories, a motif already present in several of his films. Here, the island’s volcanic, stark terrain becomes a central engine of the story, weaving between tourist hotspots, desert-like landscapes, and more remote, isolated spaces.
The filmmaker teamed up with cinematographer Romain Fisson on deliberately altered imagery achieved through an infrared process that tweaks certain colors in the set while preserving the natural skin tones of the actors. This visual approach mirrors the main character's unsettled perspective as the investigation unfolds.
Mi Amor also marks the return of Pom Klementieff to a French production after years building a Hollywood career, most notably in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Music plays a central role in the film: Irène Dresel and Sizo have crafted an ongoing original score from pre-production to accompany the DJ scenes and drive the film’s rhythm.
The film has also been selected for the feature-length competition at Reims Polar 2026, the International Festival of Crime Cinema.
