If you’re as big a fan as we are of the Lupin series on Netflix or of heist films like Ocean's Eleven and its sequels, here’s an escape game that could really spark your curiosity... We’re heading to Gamescape, a venue in Paris’s 11th arrondissement that invites you to step into the Arsène Lupin universe with the room Gentleman Burglar. Let yourself be tempted by the promise of a color-filled heist where teamwork, logic and speed will be your best allies!
"Taking on the slickest con man in France won't be a walk in the park, but the prize promised by the Countess of Cagliostro more than justifies the risk. If you manage to return a single letter Arsène Lupin stole from her, you'll claim a share of the kings of France's treasure. This adventure will carry you farther than you ever imagined!".
The escape room Gentleman Cambrioleur throws players into a delicate mission: infiltrate the office of the famous burglar to lift a letter, itself stolen from the Countess of Cagliostro. Time is tight, and you’ll have just one hour to stay discreet, solve a series of clever puzzles, and succeed where many have fallen short. Inspired by the exploits of history’s greatest thieves, this scenario tests your observation skills, your logic, and your ability to work as a team. Get ready for a pulse-pounding adventure where every clue, every mechanism, and every discovery brings you closer to the ultimate prize.
Before you dive into the adventure at Gamescape, here are a few practical details to keep in mind. First, the experience is designed for groups of 3 to 5 players, ideal for a night out with friends, a family outing, or some team-building. The escape game is also beginner-friendly (but it will challenge seasoned players too), offering a level-appropriate experience for all. And finally, punctuality matters: arriving a bit early helps you fully immerse yourself and ensures a smooth, unforgettable experience.
Our review of the escape game Gentleman Cambrioleur at Gamescape:
Our editorial team had the chance to try this room. For an hour, we were on a mission from the Countess of Cagliostro to recover a highly mystical document that belonged to her and had been stolen by the era’s most infamous thief, Arsène Lupin! A highly immersive experience, true to its period, with set design that convincingly evokes 1904.
Although the room is compact (we’d definitely recommend a four-player team, more would start to feel a bit cramped), the escape game holds its own with plenty of puzzles—some tougher than others, but all thoughtfully conceived. No spoilers, but several “wow” moments really draw you deeper into the immersion.
As for the puzzles, the mechanics aren’t immediately obvious at first glance, but once you get the big picture, everything slots into place and solving the challenges becomes easier. Search thoroughly, especially the obvious spaces you tend to overlook or ignore—the missing piece is often hiding in plain sight. These puzzles lean heavily on logic. Don’t overthink it—the solution is usually simpler than it seems.
At the end, after you’ve completed the room, another puzzle is offered to earn bonus points (you rack up points by playing, and every extra minute you exit with adds more points). A clever idea and a way to extend the experience. We loved it—now it’s your turn to give it a shot.
