Tang Frères, the historic Asian food retailer, is setting up shop in the Val d'Oise, with a 1,000 m² store planned for the large Patte-d'Oie commercial area in Herblay. The opening, initially scheduled for the end of this year, has been delayed, but for good reasons. We'll tell you everything.

The famous Asian brand Tang Frères is preparing to open a new supermarket in Herblay-sur-Seine (Val-d'Oise). Located in the Patte-d'Oie commercial area, the 1, 000 m² store will be situated along the D14. Initially scheduled to open at the end of 2025, the opening has been delayed. It will finally open in June 2026, which should revitalize the sector.

For the record, Tang Frères is an emblematic company in the distribution of Asian products in France. Founded in 1976 by the Tang brothers, of Laotian origin and Chinese ancestry, the brand began with a small grocery store in the 13ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, in the heart of the Asian district. Thanks to strong demand for exotic food products and know-how in direct importation, Tang Frères expands rapidly, becoming a benchmark for Asian communities and lovers of Asian cuisine. The company diversified its offer by importing fresh and frozen products, launching its own brand and becoming involved in audiovisual production. Today, Tang Frères owns several supermarkets in the Paris region and continues to be a major player in Asian retailing in Europe. After announcing an opening in the Hauts-de-Seine department, the department store continues its expansion in the Paris region.

A new commercial player for Patte-d'Oie

Tang Frères, a veritable institution in the distribution of Asian products in France, is continuing its expansion in the Paris region. After setting up in Paris and its inner suburbs, the brand is now tackling Herblay-sur-Seine, in a rapidly changing commercial sector.

The new supermarket will be located on the former site of Zôdio, a brand specializing in home decoration and furnishings, which closed in 2024. Tang Frères will occupy 1,000 m² of the building, while the other part of the premises will house a Kiabi store.

An expected impact on visitor numbers

The arrival of Tang Frères is seen as an opportunity to boost the commercial appeal of Herblay's Patte-d'Oie district. With its wide selection of food products, exotic fruits, groceries and fresh produce imported directly from Asia, the supermarket should attract a new clientele, both local and from the Paris region.

The Val-d'Oise is already home to a number of brands offering products from around the world, but Tang Frères remains a benchmark in the field. Its location could also benefit neighboring businesses, by increasing the flow of visitors to the area.

The opening is expected by June 2026.

The store is scheduled to open in June 2026, once the premises have been fitted out to meet the brand's requirements. The project is ultimately more ambitious than initially planned, as it will include larger storage areas and a large space for Tang Gourmet, which will feature a beautiful dining area with a veranda, according to Mayor Philippe Rouleau.

With this expansion, Tang Frères is strengthening its presence in the Île-de-France region and confirming its ambition to make Asian cuisine accessible to an ever-wider audience.
