The Maison des Artisans d'Art will open in Fontainebleau in September 2025, just a stone's throw from the château. Designer boutiques, workshops open to all and rotating exhibitions will soon be bringing life to this new spot dedicated to local crafts.

"In September, we will be inaugurating the Maison des Artisans d'Art de Fontainebleau, which will showcase local craftsmanship with workshops for the general public," explains Julien Gondard, Mayor of Fontainebleau.

In September 2025, Fontainebleau will welcome the Maison des Artisans d'Art, a brand new space dedicated tolocal crafts, located at 4 rue Royale, a stone's throw from the entrance to the château. Formerly a service station, tourist office or Fablab, this emblematic building in the town center has been given a new lease of life thanks to a project supported by the town and entrusted to the association Artisans d'art du Pays de Fontainebleau, an offshoot of the Jeux de Dames collective. On site: a store featuring 28 artisans, workshops for young and old, and temporary exhibitions renewed every two months.

This project is part of an initiative to upgrade this 91 m² building, well known to Bellifontains. It is now becoming a lively, creative space, designed to highlight the wealth of handicrafts. Over the course of the year, some twenty different skills will be on display, including upholstery, jewelry, gilding, leatherwork, stained glass, enamels, lacquerware and bronzier d'art. A meticulous selection of local artisans will be on hand to regularly renew the offer, with items for sale, demonstrations and encounters.

Behind this project is Florence Patrie, a jewelry designer based in Héricy, and an active member of the Jeux de Dames collective. It is she who heads up the association responsible for running this new space. The aim is clear: to promote local arts and crafts while creating links with the public through a program ofintroductory workshops open to all.

The Maison des Artisans d' Art complements other cultural highlights in Fontainebleau, such as the Journées des Métiers d'Art, held every spring at the château. With a year-round program, the Maison des Artisans d'Art is set to become a new landmark for crafts enthusiasts, families and curious walkers, in a human-scale space with high cultural added value.

The signing of the agreement between the town and the association marks a new stage for Fontainebleau, which is banking on creation and transmission as vectors of attractiveness. Strategically located between the shops on Rue Grande and the entrance to the park, this house should quickly become a must for visitors and residents alike.

The public opening is scheduled for the autumn, with the program to be unveiled shortly. A great place to discover arts and crafts in a different way, and to take a moment out of time right in the center of town.
