On Sunday, September 14, 2025, on the occasion of the Fête nationale du Sport, almost 1,400 rowers and 280 boats will set off on the 40ᵉ edition of the Traversée de Paris et des Hauts-de-Seine en aviron. Organized by the Ligue d'Île-de-France d'Aviron, this 28-kilometer rowing event promises to be impressive once again, with numerous crews departing from the Sèvres nautical base.
In fact, it's the only time of the year when navigation is stopped on the Seine in Paris to allow the rowers to cross the capital! Nearly 10 foreign nations are represented, and crews have been fully booked for several months, both amateur and experienced, but you can watch them all along the Seine, free of charge and in the dry.
An emblematic rowing event in France which allows courageous rowers to rediscover Parisian heritage via the Seine! If you'd like to join them, the tour lasts around three hours, from 7.30am to 10.30am. There are also a few places left for accompanying persons to support your loved ones, which include breakfast, lunch, a glass of wine and goodies, for 25 euros.
And for another crossing of the Seine later in September:
