Ever heard of K-pop? A musical trend originating in South Korea, K-pop music is winning over more and more ears, not only for its style, but also for the whole world that surrounds these boy and girl bands.
Today, four generations make up K-pop. It all began in the 1990s with the first generation, notably marked by the groups H.O.T., Shinhwa and SES. Then came the second generation, including Super Junior, BigBang and SHINee. The third generation of K-pop, certainly the most famous, saw the birth of groups such as BTS, Got7, IKON, Twice, NCT and Blackpink. Finally, the fourth generation, characterized by the use of social networks, includes Stray Kids, Ateez, The Boyz, Itzy, Everglow, AB6IX and Enhypen.
These groups are no longer content to play live in South Korea. Today, many of these K-pop groups are touring the world, including, of course, our beautiful capital. And each time, it's the same euphoria, with concert tickets snapping up like hotcakes, and shows obviously sold out months in advance. Most recently, Parisians have been treated to live performances by Dreamcatcher, MCND and The Boyz. The good news is that, in the coming months, there will be many more K-pop groups performing in Paris.
K-pop festivals are also coming to Paris to the delight of fans, such as Mik festival or Music Bank, which has taken over Paris La Défense Arena in April 2023. And there's more to come... Discover the next K-pop concerts and festivals in Paris (non-exhaustive list).
